About Us

Meet Jacky...

Every community, organisation and partnership has ideas worth exploring. My role is to help uncover them, make sense of them and communicate them in ways that inspire action.

Hi, I'm Jacky, founder of Art by Jax Creative Agency.

For over twenty years I've been helping communities, organisations and partnerships navigate complex conversations, engage meaningfully and communicate ideas with clarity.

My work sits at the intersection of community engagement, graphic facilitation and creative communication. Whether I'm facilitating a workshop, capturing discussions through live visual recording, supporting the development of a Community Action Plan or producing a professionally designed report, my focus is always the same: helping people make sense of complexity and move forward together.

Thinking Made Visible

I believe that the best ideas already exist within people and communities. Sometimes they simply need the right environment to emerge.

My role is to listen carefully, ask thoughtful questions and create the conditions for meaningful conversations. By making ideas visible through words, images and collaborative processes, I help people see connections, build shared understanding and turn discussion into action.

It's an approach I call Thinking Made Visible.

Experience

Over the years I've been fortunate to work with community groups, charities, local authorities, partnerships and businesses across Scotland.

From village halls to conference venues, strategic planning sessions to community consultations, every project has reinforced one simple lesson: people engage more confidently when they can see the conversation taking shape.

That belief underpins everything I do, whether I'm standing in front of a graphic wall with a marker pen or designing the final report that captures the journey.

More Than a Consultant

Art by Jax was built on the idea that creativity and strategy belong together.

Clients often come to me for one service, such as graphic facilitation or community engagement, but value the ability to work with someone who can support the whole process-from planning and facilitation through to visual communication, publications and professional outputs.

It means ideas don't just stay in the room. They become lasting resources that people can understand, share and build upon.

A Little More About Me...

When I'm not working, you'll usually find me sketching, playing the saxophone or spending time with my horse, Mystic, who has an uncanny ability to remind me that progress doesn't always happen in a straight line.

I'm endlessly curious about people, places and ideas, and I still believe that the most rewarding part of my work is seeing confidence grow as people realise they already have many of the answers... they just needed someone to help make their thinking visible.

“On behalf of the Board of Directors at Arbroath Football Club, I would like to thank you and compliment you on the beautiful design work on the poem recently donated to the club. It now has pride of place in our boardroom and is greatly admired by guests and visiting directors.”
John Christison, Chairman Arbroath Football Club
“As a graphic designer, Jacky brings a wide range of artistic skills to her creative designs, all based on a simple principle of actively listening and responding to the actual needs of the client.
As a client you do not get “just” what you wanted, but a design which brings the context of the Project alive, and the specific innovative designs which Jacky has brought to my Heritage Projects, have always surpassed my original expectations."
